braver

by Kaitlin Hall

The soldiers who faint in battle still fought,

and you are braver than you thought.

I know it’s dark, but please hold onto the light just a little more.

Even though it takes all that you’ve got, sometimes it’s braver to put down the sword.

Chorus:

I will fight ‘til the day I die.

I’m terrified living on the front line.

I’d give my life oh, so willingly, but if not, I’ll believe He has different plans for me.

I know it’s hard to feel alone.

You close your eyes and the darkness grows.

With bones that break and flesh that’s weak,

and wounds that only He can see.

Chorus

You came home, you felt alone, so many broken pieces.

The shield is down, the armor’s off, but you’re here for a reason.

You’ve given more than asked in this war, and submitted your will to the Lord.

So please don’t forget, you’ve got the bravest Friend,

who loved you enough to put down the sword.

Chorus
